The Big Green Machine of Naples came up with a statement win on Monday night in Gorham defeating previously unbeaten Marcus Whitman, 68-49. Naples moves to 3-0 and stands alone atop the early Finger Lakes West standings.Jason Pulver led Naples with 18 points while Isaiah Tilley pitched in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots. Noah Gorton added 10 points.For Marcus Whitman, Brad Stone’s 20 point, 13 rebound effort wasn’t enough as the Wildcats fall to 3-1.Also on Monday night in Wayne County action:The North Rose-Wolcott Cougars boys varsity basketball team moved to 2-0 on the season defeating Marion, 56-38. Garrett Hoyt led the way for NR-W with 15 while Tyler Norris and Dustin Reed scored 11 each. Marion’s Connor Crego led all scorers with 16 points in the loss. Marion falls to 0-2.
