A joint investigation between the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and the Waterloo Police Department has resulted in the arrest of Nicholas K. Budd, age 26, of 1 Center Street, Apartment B in Waterloo. It is alleged that Budd possessed a revolver in the Village of Waterloo in September of 2014 and threw the revolver into the Cayuga/Seneca Canal. The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team was able to successfully retrieve the revolver from the canal. Budd is currently under the supervision of New York State Parole and is a convicted felon.Budd was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony. Budd was arraigned in the Waterloo Village Court and released on his own recoginance as he was being held in the Seneca County Correctional Facility on a Parole Detainer. Budd is to reappear in the Waterloo Village Court on January 21, 2014 at 9am.
