On Monday at 11:30 am Seneca County Sheriff Office Investigators arrested Benjamin M. Greenfield, age 32 and currently incarcerated by NYS Department of Corrections for assault 2nd degree and criminal obstruction of breathing.The charges are a result of an investigation into an incident that occurred in the Seneca County Jail while Greenfield was incarcerated there on July 2, 2014. Greenfield refused to lock into his cell when told to by Correction Officers and then started a fight with officers who used pepper spray to subdue him. During the altercation Greenfield injured two Correction Officers by choking one and causing another a knee injury.He was arraigned in Seneca County Court and remanded back to State Prison until his to re-appear in Seneca County Court on January 5th, 2105 to answer to the charges.
