On Thursday at 12:12 pm, the Waterloo Village Police Department and Waterloo Fire Department responded to 54 North Virginia Street for a tenant reporting a house fire.The fire department quickly extinguished a small fire in a crawl space in the bathroom on the first floor of the apartment house. The cause of the fire was determined to have been started by a space heater malfunction in the bathroom.Minor fire damage was contained to a wall and the floor in the bathroom. The owner of the apartment house is Michael Tumbiolo and the house is insured.Seneca Fall Fire, Border city Fire, Fayette Fire, Seneca County Fire coordinator, Seneca County Codes and North Seneca Ambulance assisted at the scene.
