Man arrested in possession of stolen Ontario Co. firearm

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Derrick J. Krager, age 23 of 16 Thompson Road in Henrietta, on November 7th. Krager was arrested and charged with one count each of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree a class “D” felony and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree.The arrest stems from an investigation which began earlier in the week where a hand gun had been found at a Waterloo residence. Upon further investigation it was found that the firearm had been reported stolen from an Ontario County residence during the month of October.It is alleged that Derrick Krager was in possession of the firearm when it was transported to the Waterloo residence on October 19th 2014 and that he hid the firearm at the Waterloo location where it was later found by the resident of the property. Krager who had returned to the residence to retrieve the firearm was taken into custody and then brought for an arraignment before the Waterloo Town Court’s Hon. Justice Christopher Folk at which time he was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000.00 cash bail or $4,000.00 bond.Krager will re-appear before the court on November 12th 2014 at 2:00pm for further court hearings. New York State Police assisted in this investigation.
