Felony DWI charge after Ovid man flees accident

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on October 31st at approximately 9:30 pm, Sheriff Deputies arrested Adrian P McKnight, age 30 of Wyers Point Road in Ovid. McKnight was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated.It is alleged that McKnight was operating a 1993 blue Honda Civic eastbound on County Rd 139 when he lost control of the vehicle going around a curve and exited the roadway striking a tree and utility pole. While deputies were en route it was reported the vehicle was fleeing the scene.A short time later Deputies located the vehicle traveling westbound on County Road 139. The vehicle had heavy damage to its right side and was also being operated with a flat tire. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and after further investigation, it was determined the driver McKnight was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated state. Deputies report that McKnight has a previous conviction of DWI within the preceeding 10 years. McKnight was charged with Felony DWI, unsafe tire, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and moved from lane unsafely. He was arraigned at the Covert Town Court where he was ROR’d. McKnight is scheduled to reappear at the Ovid Town Court on November 18, 2014.
