Two charged with animal cruelty in Seneca Falls

On Friday, the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Bobbie L. Rowland, 33, and Kyle W. Craig, 23, both of 1875 Auburn Road, Lot 2, Seneca Falls, New York, on additional charges following a joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office, Seneca Falls Police Department, and Seneca County Child Protective Services. Rowland and Craig were each charged with four counts of Cruelty to Animals, Class A Misdemeanors. The charges stem from a search warrant execution by members of the Sheriff’s Office and Seneca Falls Police Department on 10-15-14.Following the search warrant execution, four dogs were discovered inside the residence and were seized due to their poor physical condition. The dogs were turned over to staff from the Beverly Animal Shelter and were examined by veterinary staff from Cornell University. The dogs were diagnosed with multiple ailments and conditions that could have been treated and prevented with basic veterinary care. The dogs are being cared for by the Beverly Animal Shelter and their conditions are improving. Craig was also charged with three counts of Criminal Sale of Marihuana in the fourth degree, also Class A Misdemeanors. Both Rowland and Craig are currently incarcerated in the Seneca County Correctional Facility on bail. They are both scheduled to appear in the Seneca Falls Town Court on November 10, 2014 at 6 pm.
