The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on Saturday at approximately 7:10 pm Sheriff Deputies responded to State Route 89 in the Town of Romulus for a one car motor vehicle accident.Matthew J Rook, age 30 of 161 West Bayard Street in Seneca Falls, was operating a Chevrolet Cobalt northbound on Route 89 when he left the roadway on east side striking a guard rail. Rook then struck a utility pole and the vehicle then fell about 50 ft down an embankment and came to rest along a tree. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and needed to be towed from the scene.Rook sustained injuries and was transported to Cayuga Medical Center by South Seneca Ambulance.Also assisting at the scene was the Romulus Fire Dept and NYSEG.
