Sheriff David Gould reports the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Level III Registered Sex Offender Gene A. Sheppard, age 52 formerly of Davies Lane in Port Byron, for “Failure to notify change of address” which is a felony.Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office performing routine address verification checks on 09/17/14 discovered Sheppard’s Davies Ln. residence vacant. Sheppard was located in the City of Auburn on 10/02/14 and was arrested. He was arraigned in the Town of Brutus Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $2000.00 cash or $4000.00 bond.Sex Offenders have 10 days to notify the Sheriff’s Office or The Department of Criminal Justice of a change of address.
