The Lyons Lions varsity football team improved to 3-2 on the season with a 48-0 drubbing of the visiting Marcus Whitman Wildcats on Friday night. The loss drops Whitman to 1-4 on the campaign.Lions’ quarterback Nick Fera led a potent offensive attack to finish 6 for 9 passing for 89 yards and a touchdown. Fera also scored twice on the ground. Damon Hunter caught 4 of those passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.Daryn Carswell led the rushing attacj with 117 yards while Dein Taver ran for 66 yards and 2 scores.Defensively, Chris Peay had 6 tackles, 1 sack and returned a fumble for a touchdown. Nick Kehoe brought down 14 Whitman ball carriers and added a sack and an interception. Kyle Friend had 9 tackles and a sack.Lyons will be in Seneca Falls to face Mynderse next Friday night while Whitman will host Red Jacket.
