Big cool down coming this weekend

A narrow bubble of high pressure extends from eastern Canada southwest into the Gulf of Mexico. Storm systems are located to the east and west of this high pressure, but thankfully, we are directly under the high.As a result, we will have one more great day today and should be able to squeeze a fair amount of nice weather out of Friday as well. Sunny skies and mild temperatures will continue to be present for the Finger Lakes, with highs today in the low and mid 70s. Friday also should reach the low and mid 70s, though the sun will gradually be replaced with clouds in the afternoon.Friday evening, rain showers will start to work in from west to east, overspreading the entire region overnight. This rain will be out ahead of a cold front associated with a storm system developing over the southern Plains this morning. Thankfully, most of the rain will be overnight and early Saturday morning with the majority of Saturday remaining dry.Temperatures will be much cooler as the front comes through on Saturday. Afternoon temperatures on Saturday will likely be in the 50s (and falling), with highs Sunday also in the 50s. Morning temperatures both Sunday and Monday could be cold enough for frost in some areas. The good news is that by Tuesday, warmer air starts to return. It will not get as warm as it has been, but temperatures should at least return to more seasonable levels, if not warmer than normal once again. For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com .
