Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested Tyrone Bennett, age 30 of Dewey Ave. in Rochester, on numerous charges stemming from an investigation into a robbery that occurred at a business located in the Town of Junius. Bennett was charged with two counts each of Robbery 3rd, a class D felony, Fraudulent accosting, a class A misdemeanor and petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.The charges stem from an incident in which Bennett intended to defraud two victims of money by means of using a three card monte game. Three card monte is a confidence game in which the victim, or mark, is tricked into betting a sum of money. Bennett is also accused of physically taking money from the persons of the two victims during the three card monte game.Bennett was located in Massachusetts and transported back to Seneca County by investigators and arraigned in the Town of Tyre court where he was committed to the Seneca County Jail in Lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bail bond. Bennett is to return to Town of Tyre court at a later date to answer to the charges.
