Geneva girl approached on her way to school

On Monday at around 9:28 am, in the area of Exchange Street & Middle Street in Geneva, police responded to a report by a 15-year-old female that a suspicious black male subject in a white pickup truck approached her and offered her a ride while she was on her way to school.The suspect attempted to make conversation with the victim that placed her in reasonable fear for her safety. The suspect then attempted to follow her on her path to school. A passerby observed the victims distress and proceeded to offer her a ride and once at school immediately reported it to the Geneva Police Department School Resource Officer.Based upon the investigation that followed, the following suspect was located in the suspect vehicle on Middle Street and was subsequently arrested:Suspect: Donald Leon Gibson, 46 years old of 99 Middle Street in Geneva. He was charged with Harassment in the First Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Both charges are misdemeanors. The suspect is from the State of Florida and had only been in the City of Geneva for less than 20 days.The subject was arraigned and held on $10,000/$20,000 bond and will reappear on 9/25/2014 Geneva City Court.
