Halloween bash for Auburn Public Theater

This year’s Halloween bash to support Auburn Public Theater promises to be a night to remember – if you survive its horrors.The “Haunted Hollywood Ball” will bring costumed characters out to dine, dance and support the performing arts in downtown Auburn.Set for Saturday, October 25, from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Springside Inn in Auburn, the evening launches a unique annual fundraiser – grown-up Halloween festivities, with all proceeds to benefit the programs and services of Auburn Public Theater.”We’re kicking off our annual series this year with a ‘Haunted Hollywood’ theme,” says APT board member and planning committee chair Sandra Shutter. “It’s an evening that pays homage to classic horror movies.” Think shower curtains…a message in the mirror…an elevator to the 13th floor.It’s not for the faint of heart, but it’s perfect for the fun of heart. In the spirit of the evening, costumes or formal wear are encouraged. Guests will dine at tasting stations – watch out for that carving knife – and get their spook on with dance music, free palm and tarot readings, a photo booth and a silent auction.Each special “Red Rum” cocktail will come with a souvenir glass and mystery premium. A celebrity-judged costume contest will award prizes in Most Creative, Scariest, and Best Couple/Group categories.Tickets at $50 each may be purchased at www.auburnpublictheater.org.
