Temperatures to drop today in the FLX

A cold front is making its way across the Finger Lakes this morning. Showers and some gusty winds accompany the front. These showers, and the front, should clear the Finger Lakes by noon today. Behind the front, there should be little to no precipitation.Temperatures ahead of the front are in the upper 60s and low 70s. The drop off behind the front is not immediate. For example, at 8am, it was still 72º in Buffalo, despite the front already having moved through. The temperatures will drop though with a slow and steady decline this afternoon. By early this evening, most places in the Finger Lakes should be sitting in the upper 50s. The drop will continue overnight, with lows into the upper 40s.An autumn like chill will continue for the next few days. High temperatures on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will struggle to reach 60º, and low temperatures will be well into the 40s. Only Saturday looks rainy, however, as a new storm system comes through to reinforce the cool air. The coldest morning will likely be Monday morning, when some outlying areas may flirt with the upper 30s.For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
