On Wednesday afternoon, Penn Yan Police and Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire at 146 Seneca Street in the Village of Penn Yan.A resident was inside cooking with oil and left the room for short period of time, smelled smoke, and noticed a fire.Quick response from the fire department contained damage to the kitchen area of the residence but other areas of the home sustained smoke damage.No injuries were reported.
