Seneca Falls Farmers Market report for 9/10

The kids are back to school and cooler weather is setting in, but that doesn’t mean the farmers market has ended! In fact, the market is at its’ peak with all kinds of fresh, local produce and other products. The vendors tables are laden with the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labor and they need customers like you to buy it each week. Just be sure to come to the Seneca Falls Farmers Market, People’s Park tomorrow from 9AM to 1:30PM and shop! All locally grown and harvested within hours of coming to the market…peaches, plums, nectarines, apples, raspberries, tomatoes, sweet corn, sweet and hot peppers, summer squash, cantaloupes, and other fresh picked produce. Perrine Farm has non-GMO grain and grass fed, free range lamb, chicken, beef and pork! Great meat from a long time vendor at the market. Come down and chat with Meyrick Peterson, owner of Perrine Farm with her husband and family.Seneca County CCE nutrition staff will be on hand to sample a plum salsa made with ingredients purchased at the market. Come and taste this new recipe and take home the ingredients to make it yourself. Schrader’s Farm Meat Market will be serving breakfast sandwiches once again. And for lunch they will be serving Buckboard Bacon Bleu Burger and a hot pastrami sandwich, all made with their own meat. Schrader’s also sells fresh and frozen naturally raised meats that they raise and process themselves at their USDA certified facility just down the road in Romulus.Enjoy chatting with friends and neighbors and the vendors who raise the produce and make the products they sell.And don’t miss out on gluten free cupcakes, honey, maple syrup, eggs, cheese, maple flavored popcorn and maple coated cashews, baked goods, jams and jellies and handmade items.
