Settling into pleasant FLX September weather

September can often times be a month of quiet, comfortable weather. The heat of summer isn’t usually a problem (unlike last week), and the storminess of the fall is still a future concern. This week will be one of those times, with some great weather in store.High pressure to our northeast will provide the main reason for our nice weather. For starters, it is keeping a disorganized area of low pressure along the southeast coast away from us. We should not even see clouds from this system today as it meanders along the coast.Secondly, with the center of the high much further north than last week, winds across the Ohio River Valley are more easterly as opposed to the southerly winds of last week. This cuts the Gulf of Mexico out of our air supply, keeping it cooler and less humid than last week.Looking to our west, we should not have to deal with a storm system until Thursday. Now, once this system does come through, we will get a taste of October, but for now, let’s enjoy the 70s for the next few days. Even the overnight periods won’t be as chilly as this morning, with lows mostly in the 50s for the next few days. Enjoy! For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
