Geneva beats Wayne in 2-day-long game

The Geneva Panthers varsity football team defeated Wayne on Saturday afternoon in Ontario but the first half of the contest was actually played on Friday night.After Geneva led 22-13 at halftime on Friday night, the game was postponed due to lightning in the area and was resumed Saturday where the Panthers pulled away to win by a final score of 44-19.Mark Suchewski was a one man wrecking crew for Geneva finishing with 185 yards on 25 carries, 4 touchdowns, and a pair of 2-point conversions.For Wayne, Nate Currier led the way with 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns.It was the season opener for both teams.Pal-Mac is next for Geneva, in Geneva, next Friday night. Wayne will travel to face ER/Gananda in week 2.
