Temperatures on the rise in the FLX

Yesterday was one of those perfect ‘not-too-hot, not-too-cold’ days. With highs in the 70s and lots of sunshine, it was a very enjoyable day. However, southerly winds across the Ohio and Mississippi River valleys are transporting heat and moisture north ahead of our next weather system. This system will not get here until Saturday, giving the atmosphere two more days of sun to heat up.Temperatures should be able to rise into the low and mid 80s today, with a couple locations pushing into the upper 80s. Tomorrow will be even hotter, with highs well into the 80s and some low 90s in the hottest locations near and east of Rochester. The cold front will come through on Saturday. Most of the precipitation will likely be in the morning, but the exact timing is still a bit uncertain. Temperatures will be sharply cooler behind the front, with mid and upper 60s Saturday afternoon. For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
