Mark Chiccini, 55, Saint Clair, PA, was arrested by Penn Yan Police after a traffic stop in the Village. Chiccini was stopped for speeding on Clinton Street after he was observed traveling 50 mph in a 30 mph zone. Chiccini was subsequently discovered to have bloodshot glassy eyes, impaired motor coordination and the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Chiccini was placed through a series of field sobriety tests which he did fail. Chiccini was arrested for DWI and transported to the Yates County jail where a chemical analysis of his breath revealed a .12% BAC. Chiccini was charged with Speed in Zone, DWI and DWI .08% or more BAC. Chiccini posted bail and will return to Penn Yan Village Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
