On Saturday morning at about 11:01 am, deputies responded to a report of the body of a white male which had washed up on the west shore of Cayuga Lake in the area of County Road 153 and Deerlick Springs Road in the Town of Ovid. Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Sheriff’s deputies report receiving a missing persons complaint from family members at about 12 midnight. A search was conducted with negative results. Seneca County Coroner Debroah Kelly was on the scene and ordered the body removed to the Onondaga County Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy. Sheriff’s Investigators are continuing their investigation.
