One arrested on sale of narcotics in Seneca Falls

On Wednesday, members of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Samuel J. Eckert, age 26, on charges relating to the sale and distribution of illicit drugs in the local community following a joint investigation between the Seneca Falls Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office.Eckert was charged with:Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (two counts), Class B FeloniesCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (two counts), Class B FeloniesCriminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (two counts), Class A MisdemeanorsIt is alleged that Eckert sold Oxymorphone (commonly known as Opana) and Cocaine in the Town of Seneca Falls. At the time of arrest, Eckert was found to be in unlawful possession of Suboxone and Atropine Sulfate and Diphenoxylate, both controlled substances.Eckert was arraigned in the Waterloo Village Court and remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail/$10,000 secured bond. Eckert is to re appear in the Waterloo Village Court on August 25, 2014 at 9am. No permanent address was given for Eckert.Also arrested at the scene was Casey A. Carragher, age 26, no permanent address available, on a bench warrant issued out of the Geneva City Court for failing to pay a fine on a charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Carragher was turned over to the Geneva Police Department for further action.
