Penn Yan man charged with DWI after running light

On August 16th 2014 at approximately 1:40am, Village Police arrested James Crossno, age 44 of East Main Street, with DWI after a traffic stop on Wagner Court. While on patrol Officers observed Crossno operating his vehicle and failed to stop at the stop light at the intersection of Main Street and Seneca Street. Crossno did have an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He also had an open container of beer in the vehicle. Crossno was given field sobriety tests and found to be intoxicated. Crossno was transported to the Public Safety Building for a chemical test in which revealed at .19% BAC. Crossno was charged with DWI, DWI greater than .18%, open container, failure to stop at a red light, failure to keep right, and unlawful possession of marijuana. Crossno was released on tickets and will appear in Village of Penn Yan Court at a later date to answer charges.
