Nice weather ahead but still not summer

As far as the dog days of summer go, this year has been very unimpressive. I have heard a lot of people over the last few weeks express their surprise… and dismay… and the lack of real summery weather. This week will feel a bit nicer, but the dog days are still no where to be found. We will start the week off with an area of high pressure keeping us partly cloudy and mostly dry into Wednesday. The only very small chances for isolated precipitation will be a shower early this morning and a stray thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon/evening.. Skies will transition from partly cloudy today, to mostly clear tonight and then back to partly cloudy tomorrow and Wednesday.Today will be the coolest day of the week, with highs generally falling short of 70º. Likewise, tonight should by far be the coldest night, with lows in the 40s. The rest of the week looks milder, with low and mid 70s for highs and lows in the mid 50s to low 60s.The best chances for rain will be Wednesday night and Thursday, though a couple showers will also be possible on Friday before a pleasant weekend. For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
