Annual “Friends of Extension” drive in Penn Yan

Cornell Cooperative Extension, Yates County is vital to the cultural and economic well-being of our region. With your continued support, Cornell Cooperative Extension can continue to offer programs that build a stronger Yates County and contribute to individual economic success.CCE’s impact is far-reaching and extends to you, your family, and your neighbors – your entire community – in many different ways. Our fundamental goals are to:• Conduct agricultural research and educational programs to help farms increase profits, reduce costs and to minimize the impact on the environment, including organic and sustainable practices.• Research and provide educational support on water quality and invasive species issues.• Assist citizens in household and money management skills.• Teach nutrition education for better health.• Educate people how to save energy and how to reduce their heating and cooling costs.• Build positive life skills in youth so that they become productive adults.• Show people how to grow their own food and preserve it for later use.• Encourage people to “buy local,” which saves money, leads to healthier diets, and lends support to local farms. CCE asks for your support in 2014. Contributions are a vital part of our budget to ensure quality staff and programming, more so than ever as we move away from state and federal support. We have a history of strong local impact and community-building. We need your support to deliver on our mission to build strong, vibrant New York communities. We’re inviting you to become a Friend of Cornell Cooperative Extension with a tax-deductible contribution. Donations can be made with a credit card online at http://counties.cce.cornell.edu/yates/ or via a check payable to CCE of Yates County (mail to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Yates County, 417 Liberty St., Suite 1024, Penn Yan, NY 14527)
