A very wet two weeks in the FLX

You don’t need me to tell you this, but it has been very wet the last couple of weeks.Today’s map shows the amount of precipitation that has fallen in the last two weeks. This map is a combination of radar estimates, spotter reports, and NWS observations. The areas that are in any shade of yellow, orange or red- that is, most of western and central New York and north Pennsylvania- have gotten at least 2.5″ of rain. The brighter orange and red colors indicate over 5″ of rain. The impressive part about these rain totals is that we had such a nice stretch of weather late last week and through the weekend- almost half of these 14 days were sunny and dry!Looking ahead, we will likely remain in the same basic pattern with an active jet stream overhead that keeps bringing storm systems towards us. Another system will bring a shot of lighter rain on Sunday, but there are some indications of a another soaker next week. For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
