Nine arrested in Locke meth lab explosion

District Attorney Jon Budelmann announced today that nine defendants have been arrested in connection with a May 12, 2014 explosion of a clandestine methamphetamine lab in the Town of Locke. The explosion resulted in the death of Shawn Perrault. It was also determined that three children were inside the residence at the time of the explosion.On the late afternoon of May 12, 2014, Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department, Locke Volunteer Fire Department and the Auburn Fire Department investigated the explosion which occurred at 5651 Sears Road. Following a thorough investigation by Detective Robert Franklin of the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with ADA Carl Rosenkranz of the District Attorney’s Office this case was presented to the Cayuga County Grand Jury.Dana Perrault, 23, was charged with felony counts of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Second Degree, Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence, as well as one misdemeanor count of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree.Michael Beck a/k/a “Alaska”, 31, was charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Second Degree, Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree and four counts of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree. He is currently housed in the Tioga County Jail on unrelated charges in Tompkins County.Tanya Perrault, 43, was charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Second Degree, Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree.John Lunn Jr., 20, was charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine in the Second Degree, Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree.Amy L. Walters, 41, was charged with four counts of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree, one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.Sara L. Townsend, 20, was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree, one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Townsend was also found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine at the time of her arrest in the City of Cortland.Dusten Cobb, 26, was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree, one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.Floyd Perrault, 51, was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Material in the Second Degree, and one count of Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree.Amber Perrault, 26, was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.The defendants were all arrested this morning on County Court warrants by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Department assisted by members of the United States Marshal Service, New York State Police, Moravia Village Police Department and the Cortland City Police Department.
