Weather to make transition this week

After a wonderful weekend in which high pressure dominated our weather with clear skies and comfortable temperatures, low pressure from the Ohio Valley will eat away at the high and bring an active next couple of days. For today though, we can enjoy pleasant weather once more. Skies will start out sunny, but clouds will gradually work in during the afternoon hours, if not early further west. It should remain rain free though. The rain will come in tomorrow as low pressure meanders northeast. Showers should become widespread during the day, with some embedded thunderstorms in the afternoon. Some of the rain will be heavy, especially in any thunderstorms, and the potential for 1-3″ of rain is likely. Some areas could get higher amounts if repeated thunderstorms hit the same area. However, it should only be in these localized cases that flooding is a concern. Some cooler weather will move in behind the rain for the rest of this week, but next week looks like a return to summertime heat. For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
