One car accident in Ovid – FingerLakes1.com Archive

The Seneca Co. Sheriff’s Office reports that on 8/6/14 at approximately 11 pm Deputies responded to the area of St. Rt.96 and Potter Rd. in the Town of Ovid for the reported one car accident. Upon investigation it was determined that a 2000 Nissan Ultima driven by Carrie-lynn NMN Hinkley, 19, of 2917 W. Main St Caledonia NY was northbound on St Rt 96 in the Town of Ovid when she lost control of the vehicle trying to answer a cellular phone. Hinkley continued North in the ditch, hit a culvert and rolled over. The vehicle came to rest at the corner of St Rt 96 and Potter Rd. Hinkley was treated by Trumansburg ambulance on scene and transported to Cayuga Medical Center where Hinkley was released with minor abrasions. Sheriff’s Deputies took Hinkley into custody for Driving While Intoxicated. Hinkley was processed at the Seneca Co Jail and released on appearance tickets. Hinkley is set to appear on 10/7/14 a t 10:00am to answer to the charges. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Interlaken VFD.
