On the 3rd of August around 1:07 am, Seneca Count Sheriffs Deputies arrested Ryan A. Hickman, age 29 of Oatfield Drive in Farmington, for Driving While Intoxicated. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on State Route 96a in the area of Yale Farm road in the Town of Varick around 12:38 am .Deputies report that the 2006 Honda Civic that Hickman was operating was traveling North on State Route 96a when his vehicle crossed over the yellow line, colliding head on with a vehicle that was traveling south bound on State Route 96a. That vehicle was identified as a 2000 GMC truck and was operated by a Benjamin Clise, age 18 of State Route 96 in Romulus. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.Seneca Ambulance responded to the scene, both parties were not injured. Sheriff’s Deputies report Hickman was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol content over .08 % and Failure to Keep Right. Hickman was processed and released to a third party and is to appear on the 27th of August 2014 at 7:00 pm at the Varick Town Court.The Sheriffs Office was assisted by New York State Park Police, and the Town of Varick Fire Department.
