Ithaca man charged with menacing in Interlaken

Seneca County Sheriffs Deputies report that on Tuesday at 12:19 am, Deputies arrested Steven A. Santmyer, age 32 of Heron Drive in Ithaca, for Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd Degree.The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on the 5th of August around 11:42 pm at a residence in the Village of Interlaken. It is alleged that Santmyer was driving recklessly into the residence, in addition to participating in a altercation where Santmyer is alleged to have made several threats while displaying a long metal bar while in the presence of a minor.Santmyer was arraigned in the Town of Covert Court where he was remanded to the custody of the Seneca County Correctional Facility on 2500.00 cash bail or 5000.00 bail bond.Santmyer is to re-appear on the 8th of September 2014 at 10:00 am, Order of Protection were issued on behalf of the victims.
