On Saturday evening around 9:00 pm, Penn Yan Village Police arrested Joseph Caine, age 26 of Ohio, with DWI after a report of an accident in the Knapp parking lot off of Wagener Street.Caine backed into another vehicle while attempting to leave the lot and when police arrived they detected an odor of alcohol on hie breath along with glassy eyes and slurred speech.After a series of sobriety tests, Caine was found to be intoxicated and taken to the Public Safety Building where he took a chemical test that revealed a .12% BAC.Caine was charged with unsafe backing and DWI greater than .08%. He was committed to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash / $2,000 bond.
