Gorgeous day on tap before unsettled weekend

While we remain in the same general weather pattern that has kept us cool and unsettled all week, today will offer us a bit of a respite from the dreary weather. We will be between systems today, with one system moving up the east coast and another dropping into the Midwest. The coastal system will stay well to our east as it rides along the coast today and tonight. We should see nothing but clouds from this system, and even then, the western half of the Finger Lakes may not see very many of those. That could be an important factor in tomorrow’s forecast. The Midwestern system will be too far to the west to impact us today. Tomorrow, it will trigger showers and storms, especially in those areas that get warmer in the morning due to a lack of clouds from the coastal system. Showers and storms may linger into Sunday from this system. But, for today at least, the chances of rain are low (but not completely gone). The majority of the region should remain dry today, with just a couple isolated showers or storms this afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be nicer as well, with highs reaching into the upper 70s.For the latest local forecast, conditions, and live radar images visit the FingerLakes1.com Local Weather Center.
