27 year old James Sanford was arrested by Village Police after an investigation into a physical altercation that occurred on June 7, 2014 where it is alleged that Sanford physically attacked another man at the Penn Yan Byrne Dairy parking lot while the victims 6 month old child was present, leading to a warrant being issued for his arrest. Sanford had been evading police for nearly 2 months before being apprehended by officers when he was found by police hiding in a bathroom of a former residence of his parents at 13 Main Street in Penn Yan. He was arraigned in Village Court where he was remanded to the Yates County Jail on $2,500 bail.
