Radio Control Car and Airplane Race

Do you love remote control cars and airplanes? Have you always wanted a chance to show off your skill? How fast can you navigate around our paved race course? How fast can you race across a park lawn? What kind of skills do you have with your r/c helicopter or plane? On Sat., August 9, the Western Gardens Neighborhood Association invites you to participate in a family-friendly race open to residents city-wide. Whether you have a radio controlled car, airplane, 4-wheel truck, or helicopter, Western Gardens will have courses designed for both competition and skill. If you don’t have your own r/c vehicle, no worries! Lake City Hobby will be donating a few vehicles for use, so all children will have a chance to participate. The event will begin at 10 a.m. at Washington Street Park and will run until 12:00 p.m. Certificates and ribbons will be distributed to individuals who participate in the event. Following the event, residents of Western Gardens are invited to the annual Western Gardens Neighborhood Association family picnic, which will run from noon-2 p.m. Please bring a dish to pass and your own utensils. It will be a great opportunity for the neighborhood to join together for some summer fun! For more information, please contact Marty Davis at (315) 828-6588 or by e-mail at [email protected].
