5K Race for Hunger on August 2nd – FingerLakes1.com Archive

The Seneca Meadows Wetlands Preserve is hosting their fourth, annual 5K Race for Hunger on August 2, 2014 at 9:00 am at their Black Brook Road site in Seneca Falls. Although this race’s USTAF certified course is situated in a wetland preserve, it is not your typical “trail race.” The terrain is relatively flat, with a stone dust path and beautiful native wildflowers, wildlife and ponds surrounding the course. Cash prizes will be presented to the overall male and female winners for first, second and third place. Trophies will be given to first, second and third place winners in each age category. Registration fees are $15 plus a non-perishable food item for pre-registrants, and $20 on race day. Proceeds from the 5K Race for Hunger benefit the House of Concern, a very active, local food pantry that services hundreds of families in need.
