High pressure has been meandering around our area for a number of days. Today, like yesterday, it is centered near Maine but has an influence over the entire region. This high pressure is just close enough to keep our weather pretty calm, but just far enough away that a couple showers will be possible this afternoon as the daytime heat bubbles up.High temperatures should mostly be in the low 80s today, but even warmer temperatures are building across the Midwest on the back side of the high.We will continue to see an increase in temperature of a few degrees each day until Wednesday. Tuesday we should see mid and upper 80s, with more upper 80s on Wednesday possible, depending on the presence of clouds and rainA cold front will come through on Wednesday with some showers and thunderstorms. A couple of those storms could be strong, but we will have to wait for Wednesday morning to see exactly what sort of severe threat we may have.
