The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on Wednesday at 1:05 am, deputies arrested John G. Champion, age 44 of 2126 Prospect Street in Ovid, for Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 3rd degree.It is alleged that Mr. Champion made a report of being injured as a result of another Town of Ovid Resident attacking him. Upon further investigation, Mr. Champion was found to be fabricating the incident. Mr. Champion was arraigned by Town of Ovid Judge VanCleef and was remanded to the Seneca County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1000 bail bond. Mr. Champion is to reappear before the Town of Ovid Court in front of Judge VanCleef on July 15th, 2014 at 100:00am.
