Sparks fly as Waterloo man drives with no tire

On July 4, 2014 at 10:31 pm, the Waterloo Village Police Department arrested Daniel A. Mari, age 36 of 309 E. Williams Street for DWI, .08% BAC or more, Driving on an Unsafe Tire, Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana. Mr. Mari was observed driving in the Town of Waterloo on Route 5 by a civilian who reported to police that he was driving with no tire on the front of his truck and sparks flying off the tire. Mr. Mari was observed by Waterloo Village Police on West Main Street in the Village with no driver side front tire and was operating on the rim.Waterloo Police attempted to stop Mr. Mari but he fail to pull over. Mr. Mari eventually stopped his truck at the red light on West Main Street and Virginia Street where he was blocked in by patrol cars and taken into custody.Mr. Mari was issued an appearance ticket and vehicle and traffic citations and was released. Mr. Mari is due back in court on July 30, 2014.
