The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports on Saturday at approximately 1:30 pm, Sheriff Deputies investigated a Personal Injury Motor Vehicle Accident that occurred on County Road 139 in Ovid. A Chevrolet Malibu being operated by Larry A Hollister, age 49 of 2137 W Wycoff Road, was making a left turn out of a driveway when he failed to yield the right of way to a Ford Explorer that was traveling westbound on Route 139. The operator of the Explorer, Mary L Sampson, age 70 of 6992 County Road 132A, swerved to avoid a collision resulting in her to lose control of the vehicle, exit the roadway and overturn.The vehicle came to rest on its roof and Sampson needed to be extricated from the vehicle by the Ovid Fire Department. Sampson was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and subsequently flown to Upstate Medical by Lifenet for possible shoulder and back injuries.Her vehicle sustained heavy damage and needed to be towed from the scene.Hollister was issued citations for Failure to Yield Right of Way, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd as it was discovered he was driving on a suspended license. Hollister is to appear in the Town of Ovid Court at a later date
