Ending June on a high note in the FLX

High pressure that brought us a (mostly) nice weekend has moved off the East Coast and is now centered southeast of Massachusetts. As a result, winds have turned to the south and southwest, allowing even more heat and humidity into the region.High temperatures today will push towards 90º along the I-90 corridor from Syracuse west today, with mid and upper 80s throughout the rest of the Finger Lakes. The higher elevations of the region should reach the low 80s.Most of the region should escape today without precipitation, though a stray shower or storm still may pop up for an unlucky few.Tuesday is looking a few degrees warmer, with heat index values climbing well into the 90s for some. This would be the first time this year experiencing that combination of heat and humidity, so extra caution may be prudent.Speaking of caution, showers and thunderstorms are likely tomorrow evening and night, some of which will likely be strong to severe. More details on that tomorrow.
