HWS employee charged with Grand Larceny

On Monday morning, with the cooperation of Hobart & William Smith Colleges, the Geneva Police Department has concluded an investigation into the theft of property and money from the Information & Technology Department at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Debra Jerome, age 51 of State Route 245 in Stanley. The suspect was charged with one count of Grand Larceny in the 2nd Degree which is a Class C Felony.It is alleged that over the period of 2008-2014, while acting as the purchasing agent for the IT Department, the suspect stole in excess of $50,000 from the IT Department and HWS for which she was employed.Jerome was arraigned and sent to Ontario County Jail on $20,000 bail or $40,000 bond and will reappear in Geneva City Court at a later date.
