The 17th annual Medley of Tastes, the summer fundraiser for The Smith Center For The Arts will take place on Monday, June 23 at 5:30pm at the Scandling Center located on the Hobart and William Smith College Campus.Since its inception 17 years ago, nearly 7,000 people have enjoyed a symphony of delicious food and drink from dozens of the Finger Lakes’ finest restaurants, specialty food connoisseurs and wineries at the Smith Center for the Arts’ annual Medley of Tastes fundraiser. Sponsors for this year’s event are Phelps SunGas, Hancock Estabrook, LLP and Hobart and William Smith Colleges.We invite you to unwind with friends on a summer’s evening and enjoy some of the region’s finest cuisine and tastiest wines while supporting the quality community arts and cultural programming you’ve come to expect from the Smith Opera House. In addition to great food and drink, local musicians, John Blume and Meredith Beckley will provide live music for the event. New this year – the wine and food samples are being judged by area culinary experts. The judges are Lorraine Hems, Cheryl Pitti and Stephanie Mira de Orduna.Awards are given to the vendors at the end of the event for the best in taste, food, dessert and presentation. These awards are specially designed for The Smith by Wizard of Clay. Please note that this event takes place at the Scandling Center , HWS Colleges, 300 Pulteney Street, Geneva, NYTickets are $30 and $35 at the door. Doors will open at 5:30pm. Tickets may be purchased by visiting the Smith Opera House box office, located at 82 Seneca Street, Geneva, calling 315-781-5483 or through the website thesmith.org. The box office hours are Monday through Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm.The Smith Center for the Arts, a 501 c (3) non- profit arts organization, is both a presenting organization and a catalyst for enhancing the role of the arts in the Finger Lakes. The organization owns and operates the historic Smith Opera House and coordinates numerous other arts advocacy projects.
