One click and a minute of your time can help your favorite non-profit earn $1,000 from Tompkins Trust Company. The Community Minute Challenge is a social media contest sponsored by the Tompkins Trust Company. The contest is an extension of Tompkins Trust Company’s Community Minute Program, which promotes local non-profits on the radio every month. At the end of the contest one local organization will walk away with $6,000. At the end of each quarter, participating community organizations will submit a minute long video explaining the positive impact they’ve had in Tompkins County. During a two week voting blitz the public will vote for their favorite organization via Tompkins Trust Company’s Facebook page and the winner will receive $1,000. At the end of the year, the four winners will compete for a grand prize of $5,000.The first round of the Community Minute Challenge has begun and the voting period will end on June 30. The competing organizations for this quarter are The Kitchen Theatre Company, the Coddington Road Community Center, Relay for Life of Tompkins County, Ithaca Sunrise Rotary, and Family and Children’s Service of Ithaca.
