The United Way of Cayuga County Executive Director Carrie Collins-Fadell announced today that the Cayuga County Young Professionals group, IGNITE, will be at the helm of the Fall 2014 fundraising campaign. “We are delighted to have this amazing group of young professionals who have so fully committed themselves to the success of Cayuga County serve as the Campaign Chair,” stated Collins-Fadell. The Fall 2014 campaign will raise money for over 40 vital human service programs run by 21 Cayuga County nonprofits. IGNITE members will be on the campaign trail this fall during the workplace campaign visiting dozens of workplaces throughout the county and talking about the value of an investment in the United Way through campaign contributions. The monies raised will fund programs throughout 2015. “Our programs are a crucial part of the Cayuga County community and we are gong to work hard to ensure that they receive all the funds that they so richly deserve,” said Collins-Fadell. IGNITE recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in April and is going strong. IGNITE Chairman Daniel Lovell was recently named the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year.“IGNITE is extremely excited to have the opportunity to chair this year’s United Way campaign,” Lovell said. “United Way and its funded programs are so vitally important to our community, and are right in line with IGNITE’s mission of improving the value of living and working in Cayuga County. We look forward to spreading the message about United Way’s good work this campaign season, and working side by side with Carrie and her staff.”IGNITE is a program of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce, governed by young professionals, that empowers its members to recognize and enhance the value of living and working in Cayuga County by connecting people and ideas.
