On May 22, 2014 at approximately at 8:22 pm Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Troopers, Odessa Fire Department and Montour Fire Department responded to a two car Personal Injury Accident at the Intersection of State Route 228 and Steam Mill road in the Town of Catherine.It was determined upon arrival to the scene that a vehicle, driven by Wyatt Bowen of Alpine, NY, traveling south on Steam Mill Road failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. This caused the vehicle traveling West on state route 228, driven by Michael Clark of Beaver Dams, NY, to collide with the vehicle sending the vehicle across the intersection and into a hedgerow of trees.Bowen became entrapped in his vehicle due to the damage the vehicle sustained. Odessa Fire Department extracted the patient from the vehicle who was then air lifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.Clark and his passenger Caitlin Harter of Corning, NY were transported to Schuyler Hospital to be treated for minor injuries that were later released. The investigation is still ongoing at this time and charges are pending against Bowen.
