Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on April 28th, two subjects were arrested following an investigation into the burglary of a private garage in the Town of Waterloo. Amanda L. Herzig, age 23 and Joshua T. Hakes, age 31 both of 2460 Edwards Rd. Waterloo were charged with Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D Felony, for their alleged participation in a burglary that occurred on April 27, 2014 where a building was damaged and property was stolen from inside of the building. Hakes was also charged with Felony DWAI-Drugs after a traffic stop that occurred in the Town of Waterloo on 04/28/2014 during the investigation of the burglary.Amanda L. Herzig was arraigned before the Waterloo Town Court’s Honorable Justice Christopher Folk on the Burglary charge at which time she was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in l ieu of $4,000.00 cash bail or $8,000.00 secured bond. Joshua T. Hakes was arraigned in the Waterloo Town Court also on the burglary and the DWAI-Drugs charge at which time he was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000.00 cash bail or $10,000.00 bond. Both subjects are due back in court at May 22nd 2014 for further court action.The investigation in this case is still ongoing and further charges are pending.
