A mid-morning fire destroyed a Walnut Street home in Phelps and sent one woman to the hospital.Fire crews arrived to the location shortly after 7:30 am on Tuesday morning to find the street facing wall of the two-story home fully engulfed in flames.Photo by Mike BakerFinger Lakes New Radio reports that two people were inside the home when the fire started. 44-year-old Dawn Mahar and 43-year-old Susan Commisso both were able to escape. Mahar was transported to Geneva General Hospital with minor burns.Phelps, Oaks Corners and Clifton Springs Fire Departments responded. The cause of the fire in under investigation.
