The Seneca Falls Business Association, in conjunction with the Seneca County Arts Council, will hold the first annual Seneca Falls Art Walk in downtown Seneca Falls next month. Throughout the downtown area businesses will turn a portion of their space into art galleries for local painters, sculptors, ceramists, woodworkers and photographers to display their work. The Art Walk begins Friday May 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with receptions, music and dinner specials. The event will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with music on the street, additional artist booths and sidewalk sales.“We are pleased to offer area artists a place to display their work and celebrate their talent” said Beverly Lombardo, Art Walk committee chairperson “Often people are reluctant to step into an art gallery. This event will give visitors and area residents a chance to experience and view art in a relaxed atmosphere.” Artists interested in being a part of the Art Walk are asked to detail size and number of pieces they wish to show and type of display apparatus, if any, so they can be matched up with a host business. Artists with larger displays and tents will also be accommodated with outdoor booth space on Saturday. There is no charge to show work for this first Seneca Falls Art Walk. Artists are encouraged to remain with their work and to stay on-site duration the event. Artists who are able to paint or demonstrate their skill during the show are invited to do so. Interested artists should contact the Seneca County Arts Council at scac109@gmail.com referencing Art Walk or call Beverly Lombardo 315-568-6137. Deadline for submission of interest is May 1.
